Ventura Hydraulic's rig skidding system is used on Union Oil Company's platform Gilda. This platform has the size of one half the length of a football field and the capacity to drill 96 holes, more than any other platform in the world. The skidding system operates at 3000 p.s.i. hydraulic pressure, and is designed to move the rig and pipe racking a combined simultaneous move, which is a first and all of 1.5 million pounds in weight.

Skidding System where the locking mechanism is operated by rollover cams. It is loaded and unloaded by means of hydraulic actuators.

The gripper system is supported on a flanged skid base of a drilling platform.
